Step #1
Do Your Homework
(Things to consider when choosing a breed)
1.  What characteristics are important to you?
i.e. lap dog vs. jogging partner
         guardian vs. social butterfly

2.  How much activity can you provide, and what kind?
Some dogs are better suited to mountaineering.
   Others thrive with moderate exercise.

3.  Does anyone in your family have allergies?
It is a good idea to have allergy prone members tested for sensitivity, to avoid
   potential problems.

4.  How much grooming can I provide?
Some hair coats require daily maintenance.
   Others need relatively little attention.
